Welcome to the RetroHack.be website.

This is a place where I’ll blog about retro computing and retro gaming. Unlike other websites or blogs, I want to address retro technologies from a technical, mostly programming, point of view. I’ve always felt that understanding the history of programming is key to be a good software architect or developer today. You could be surprised to see how design patterns were used in video game programming techniques in the 80’s, or the similarities between a console emulator and a container engine.

In the real life I own a private company called Vicromis. On the Vicromis website, I blog more about Software Engineering, Architecture and Development practices (and not focusing on retro computing or gaming).

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have interesting topics not covered here or if you want to discuss more in details about a specific area. You can find me on Twitter.
